Why choose me for your Physio

Are you isolating at home? Use my online service!

Many people assume that a stiff or sore neck is an inevitable part of aging.

I’m here to show you that doesn’t have to be the case!

Further to my post about online physiotherapy, I’m super excited to announce a collaboration with Back in Action and their Mobiliser system, which goes some way to giving you hands-on treatment, especially in combination with the online physio.

You can have:

  • me online in your home
  • a Mobiliser bed on your floor
  • both 😊

The Mobiliser…

If you were seeing me during my Sun Street days then I might well have introduced you to the Mobiliser bed, invented by my friend David Newbound of Back in Action

This completely unposed picture shows David on a Mobiliser, showing typical home use, with his dog Colin watching – obviously in total approval and adoration!

I have been a huge Mobiliser fan for many years, starting in 2004 when I was based at NATO Headquarters in Northwood, and undertook a research project which proved that it really does increase and improve the range and symmetry of spinal and pelvic mobility.  I have one myself, I bought my sister one when she qualified as a helicopter pilot (pilots have notoriously terrible backs!) and quite a few of my patients have them as well – they’re a great bit of kit, and you can read more about them here.

Similarly, David is an occasional patient of mine, so he’s quite familiar with the way I work, and in fact when I first set up my Victory clinic, I worked part-time from clinic rooms in two of David’s Back in Action shops.

Combined with online physio…!

Anyway, I was talking to David yesterday and discussing my online physiotherapy plans, and between us we thought we might be able to offer a bit of extra help for people who really need some element of hands-on treatment.

So – if that’s you (and please feel free to email me if you want to check whether I think it would be suitable for you) then you might be interested to learn that David is hiring out Mobilisers during the lockdown! And since I have a Mobiliser at home, during our online physio sessions, Mobiliser use is something we can go through together, to make sure you’re getting the most out of it – for example we can discuss how and when to move from being a beginner to intermediate and advanced Mobiliser user, and what exercises to use at each stage, including where and when to use the extra weights…

This video shows possible positions for the sandbag weights that come with the Mobiliser.  They don’t move themselves, they’re not magic 😉

When you hire or buy a Mobiliser you also get a free consultancy system from Back in Action that takes you from absolute beginner through to advanced according to your need and condition.

I also include advice for my patients based on my years of Mobiliser experience, but in general the weights aren’t used during your acclimatisation period and are best used as explained under the included consultancy.

If you’re interested, you’re welcome to email me, or just contact Back in Action directly using the the out of hours contact forms on the Back in Action or the Mobiliser websites, or call them on 0207 930 8309 during office hours.
